Caring For Your Garments

At 4th & Reckless, we curate wardrobes with intention and artistry. Our collections are defined by refined silhouettes, modern femininity, and the versatility that carries a woman seamlessly from day to night.

Each garment is created to endure—styled, re‑styled, and treasured season after season.

As a female‑led fashion house, we honour the traditions of tailoring while embracing a contemporary, confidently feminine aesthetic. Our mission has always been clear: to make the experience of dressing—of feeling exceptional—effortless.

Every Season, Every Reason – Considered.
COTTON
How to wash:
For optimal preservation, wash your cotton garments at 30–40°C using a gentle cycle. We recommend avoiding fabric softeners, as they may diminish the natural breathability and refined texture of the fabric.
How to dry & store:
To maintain the integrity and silhouette of each piece, air‑dry your cotton items. Do not tumble dry.
LINEN
How to wash:
For enduring beauty and longevity, wash linen in cool to lukewarm water 30–40°C This gentle approach preserves the natural fibres and prevents shrinkage. Use a gentle cycle, ensuring garments have ample room to move. For particularly fine pieces, place them in mesh garment bags to protect against friction and surface fuzzing.

How to dry & store:
For an immaculate finish, press while slightly damp. This ensures a smooth, elegant drape while preserving the garment’s original shape.

Linen’s subtle wrinkles are part of its timeless charm. A light iron or steam will refine the silhouette without diminishing its effortless appeal.

Store linen in a cool, dry environment. Avoid hanging heavy pieces, which may stretch the weave over time. To preserve the fabric’s smoothness, wash linen separately from coarse textiles such as denim or heavy canvas.

For an immaculate finish, press while slightly damp. This ensures a smooth, elegant drape while preserving the garment’s original shape.

Keep your cotton garments in a cool, dry, and dimly lit environment. Unfold and refold periodically to prevent permanent creases and ensure lasting refinement.
WOOL
How to wash:
Choose a gentle hand wash or use your machine’s delicate cycle with cold water. Always select a detergent crafted specifically for wool, ensuring the fibres remain soft, resilient, and beautifully preserved.

How to dry & store:
After washing, lay wool garments flat to dry, allowing them to retain their original shape. Avoid hanging, as it may lead to stretching, and never tumble‑dry—heat can shrink and compromise the integrity of the fibres.

With its innate self‑refreshing properties, wool benefits simply from being worn and then aired out for a day before storing. This helps release natural odours without the need for frequent washing, maintaining the garment’s purity and longevity.

Ensure wool garments are clean and completely dry before storing to prevent mildew. Use breathable storage bags or boxes, and enhance protection with cedar blocks—a naturally elegant way to discourage moths while maintaining a fresh scent.

With thoughtful care, your wool garments will retain their exceptional softness, structure, and enduring beauty—making them a timeless investment in your wardrobe.
DENIM
How to wash:
Always turn denim inside out before washing. This protects the rich exterior colour, minimises fading, and preserves the artistry of the fabric. Ensure all buttons, zippers, and rivets are secured. This maintains the garment’s silhouette and prevents unwanted snagging during the wash.

Wash dark denim with darks and light denim with lights to safeguard against dye transfer and preserve tonal depth.

Use cold water to maintain colour integrity and prevent shrinkage.

How to dry & store:
Avoid machine drying, as heat can compromise both fit and fibre. Instead, hang jeans inside out in a shaded, well‑ventilated space for a naturally refined finish.

Choose a dry, airy environment to prevent musty odours and maintain the purity of the fabric.

Extended exposure to sunlight may fade deep indigo tones. Dry in the shade to maintain richness.

Washing less frequently and using biodegradable detergents helps protect both your denim and the environment — an elevated way to care with intention.

Minimising washes retains the denim’s natural oils, helping it mould to the body and maintain a refined, personalised fit.
