Catching up with the 4th girls during lockdown

We caught up with some of our 4th girls and got the low down during lockdown. Keep reading to see what our fave blogger girls are getting up, how they are staying motivated and their current beauty regime...

Tanis Forsyth

What’s your go to stay at home outfit?

Oversized sweatshirts always with a pair of comfy cycling shorts or lounge trousers. I do find myself unmotivated though if I don’t doll myself up at home and I tend to work better if I put on a nice outfit so sometimes even a comfy pair of jeans, basic white vest, oversized blazer and some chunky gold jewellery⚡️

How do you stay motivated?

I think we are all struggling to be motivated right now but I find if I want to have a productive day, I will start the day with some exercise which really helps, even if it’s just 15 or 20 minutes it still gets you ready for the day. Also writing lists the night before for what I want to achieve the next day.

Have you learnt to make something new?

Yes, a couple things actually.

I do a lot of sewing through my job and always wanted to make co-ords out of vintage blazers and with lockdown I finally had time to try it out and it was a success,

I also learned how to make iced lattes which I swear is going to save me a fortune on Costa/Starbucks when they reopen! I’m addicted 🥰

What’s your insight to your beauty regime?

So, I moisturise every morning and night always. I don’t actually wear a lot of make-up and when I do, I like it to look glowy and sun kissed. Charlotte Tilbury is my go-to products for make-up - I LOVE!

What series are you watching right now?

I’m actually really struggling to find one at the minute as I binge watch stuff as soon as it comes onto Netflix. But I have just started watching the first series of YOU again. Any recommendations would be great.

First thing you will do after lockdown?

First thing I will do after lockdown is book a trip to Scotland to see my family and best friends as I’m sure we are all craving a girl’s night!

Favourite 4th and reckless pieces?

Very hard question because I love so many, but my favourite pieces are the Tula suit in black as you can style this causal and also dress it up.

I also love the Rachie suit in sage, I’m obsessed with the colour and I actually wear this at home sometimes as the material is so comfortable. Last but not least the Emily pinstripe blazer suit, this is one of the coolest sets ever and I can’t wait to style it this summer with some high socks and new balance trainers.

What’s your go to stay at home outfit?

A cropped bralette top and sweatpants or sweatshorts HOWEVER I do force myself to get dressed in normal clothes 2x a week just so I don't feel like a total bum all the time! Getting dressed also gives me extra motivation and energy to get things done around the house!

How do you stay motivated?

At least 4x a week, I still create a schedule for myself. I write out everything down to the hour and make sure I stick to it! The rest of the days, I let how my body and emotions feel dictate my daily schedule. Because everyday is different emotionally, if I'm not feeling great, I won't for myself to be productive but instead, let myself feel those feelings and get it out of my system!

Have you learnt to make something new?

I have learned SO many new things. I am not necessarily the most domesticated gal so I have been making coffee every morning with my new milk frother and fancier syrups, I've learned a few fun recipes, I learned how to take off gel manicures, and I've especially learned that stillness and slowing down is a GIFT.

What’s your insight to your beauty regime?

I'm not going to lie, I thought I would be more on top of it since I am home but because I wake up during the strangest hours, I haven't really been on top of it haha HOWEVER, on days that I do have my life somewhat together, here's my routine:

AM: wash, toner, vit C serum, anti-aging serum, moisturizer, SPF

PM: wash, toner, overnight serum, moisturizer, hydration lock serum

Mask 1x a week, do a mini mild peel 1x a week with the Dr. Dennis Gross pads.

What series are you watching right now?

I am currently watching Outer Banks on Netflix!

First thing you will do after lockdown?

First thing I will do after lockdown is GO TO THE GYM, then right after, GO STRAIGHT TO THE BEACH and roll alllll of my body in the sand and keep rolling myself until I reach the water lol!

Favourite 4th and reckless pieces?

Honestly, everything. They're all so timeless. But if I HAD to pick one, obviously the blazers!

How are you coping through lockdown?

I am trying to plan my days so I’m productive as possible, my usual routine is to get up have breakfast & workout. I feel that this really sets me up for the day. I will then create some content, so take my outfit pictures then I usually have a smoothie & some food.

There are some days where I will not feel like doing anything so I will chill and watch a TV series, read a magazine or just scroll through Instagram. Im trying to make myself as busy as possible really to take my mind of the current situation. It’s always good to feel positive and do positive things, especially at this time. My aim is to start a new book!

What is your go to stay at home outfit?

My go to definitely has to be a pair of oversized joggers, a hoody or sweat-top, my Nike socks & fluffy slippers! I have been dressing my joggers up with jewellery as it makes me feel more dressy but casual at the same time. Whilst the sun has been out I’ve been wearing cycling shorts & a tank top!

How do you stay motivated?

Im really loving creating outfit inspo at the moment and putting lots of different outfits together (even though I can’t wear them out) so I guess that’s keeping me motivated really. I like looking at other instagrams for inspiration and to get ideas - I could do this for hours! I think it’s good to have a plan in your head of what your going to do that day, which is what I am trying to do at the moment.

On a weekend I have tried to have something to look forward to, like a few drinks, cocktail making, quiz nights, meeting friends on zoom for drinks!

Have you learnt to make something new?

Hmm, yes. I have made chocolate protein brownies which I haven’t made before and also some oat cookies - I followed the recipe from another blogger and tweaked it slightly. I love baking and I used to bake a lot when I lived at home with my parents. I don’t have any ingredients at the moment but when I get some I’m going to bake a few cakes. I’ve also been making lots of different smoothies & experimenting with different fruits as well as some home made frozen daquiris!

What’s your insight into your beauty regime?

So my day to day regime for skincare is first thing when I’m showering I will use the St Ives apricot face scrub - this is probably the best face scrub, personally, I have used in a while! And it’s so cheap! I then cleanse my face using The Ordinary face cleanser (squalene cleanser) followed by ; Pixi beauty rose tonic. I then apply The Ordinary hyaluronic acid (which is amazing) followed by The Ordinary face moisturiser. That’s it really. Recently I have been kindly gifted some amazing skin care so I will mix it up once in a while, just to try out different products.

What series are you watching right now?

I’m currently watching our girl and I am obsessed with it!! I never thought I would actually like it but it’s so good. I’m also re watching gossip girl - it’s one of my ultimate faves.

First thing you will do after lockdown?

The first thing I will do after lockdown, hmm where do I start haha. I will be seeing my family and catching up with them, then probably just go out for food & a few drinks! That’s the thing I enjoy the most so yeah, probably that :)

Favourite 4th & Reckless pieces?

Ahh, there are so many pieces that I am absolutely loving right now. I ADORE the ‘Lauren‘ suit (hehe) it’s amazing as you can wear It so many different ways, it’s so versatile!

I also love the ‘Rachie’ suit too - sage green is my favourite colour at the moment. I love how it can be dressed up with heels or down with a pair of trainers!

Lastly, the ‘Milo’ suit. I have worn this suit so many different ways; as a suit, as a blazer alone, the trousers with a cute crop top or bodysuit. I do think this suit is a staple piece as both items can be worn with absolutely everything!

What is your go to stay at home outfit?

Always a tracking suit! Joggers, hoodie/sweatshirt, comfy socks and slippers.

How do you stay motivated?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I try to maintain a schedule of always waking up and going to sleep at the same time but some days I just wake up unmotivated and that's ok. We don't need to be productive every day!

Have you learnt to make something new?

Yes! I've been trying lots of new recipes in the kitchen and also started my mood board account no instagram with some mood boards so that's kinda something new as well! ahah

What’s your insight into your beauty regime?

I actually don't even have any! I try to drink loads of water every day and I moisturise every other day, that's about it ahah
