SPOOKY SEASON - QUARANTINE HALLOWEEN
Spooky season is finally here but our fancy-dress costumes are gathering dust and our social calendars aren’t looking much better than they did back in March. With our usual antics put on pause for the year, we are facing the prospect of a house bound Halloween. Keep reading for our little compilation of things to keep you sane and feeling seasonal during what us here at 4th are terming ‘Quarantine Halloween.’
Get spooky on Spotify
The perfect way to get into the spirit of scary season. From old school classics to chilling chart hits we’ve got the tunes to bring the terror. Find our Halloween mix here. Whatever you’ve got planned, pop these on whether your lounging about the house or cooking up a storm in the kitchen to bring about those Halloween feels.
Carve a pumpkin
Let’s be real it’s not Halloween unless you’re up to your elbows in pumpkin gunk. Yes, we do it every year and it will never get old. Don’t forget to save the seeds and pop them on a tray with a sprinkling of salt and bake for 20 mins for a seriously tasty (and healthy) Halloween snack.
Mix up a creepy concoction
We might not be able to go out and hit the bars in our best fancy dress but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a spooky cocktail or 7 in the comfort of our own homes. Try our favourite top three cocktail creations to liven up your Saturday night; the black magic sangria, the caramel apple martini, and the hot chocolate del diablo. Sit back, sip and enjoy witches.
Bake some bloodcurdling brownies
Potentially beating the banana bread days, we bring to you our bloodcurdling brownie edition. The ideal way to pass time when you’re stuck inside, these provide a deliciously sweet reward. Decorate as you please to create some scary snacks. Not ideal for our waistbands but tasty nevertheless. Find the step by step recipe here.
Have a scary sofa fest
Nothing says Halloween like hiding behind a pillow and watching a good horror. Grab some popcorn and treats and settle into that settee. See our previous blog post here for our 4th finds of the best scary/Halloween movies that will leave you trembling in front of the TV.
Pamper yourself pretty
It might be season of the zombie and witch, but it doesn’t mean we have to look like one. Self-care is a necessity year-round and what could be better than remerging with a healthy Halloween glow. Here at 4th we are currently loving the Elemis pro cleanse balm and the L’Oréal hydra genius gel, use both in your daily routine to really treat your skin to some glowy goodness.
Catch a case of the crafts
Keep busy with some DIY décor, these precious pumpkins will have everyone asking where you got them. But don’t be fooled, you don’t need to be a seamstress to make these velvet visions. Check out @silkbeauhome IGTV for an easy step by step guide here.
